OpenAI signs $38 billion infrastructure deal with AWS

OpenAI has signed a seven-year, $38 billion infrastructure deal with AWS to access hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs, effective immediately.

The deal follows OpenAI's restructuring that reduced its reliance on a single cloud provider and opened up opportunities for broader compute sourcing.

We see Google and Gemini partnering with Apple and its product Siri, as well as providing compute for Anthropic. For AWS, this represents a strong vote of confidence as the cloud AI competition intensifies.
