AI and the white-collar shift
Dario Amodei, CEO of Anthropic, said AI could eliminate half of all entry-level white-collar jobs within five years.
The framing might sound extreme, but there is some validity to the claims. Large models are automating aspects of work that depend on typical research, drafting, and analysis.
Productivity is increasing, not decreasing. Expected output is rising, and teams are accomplishing more with fewer people. Sadly, the low-leverage tasks are disappearing. What truly matters is judgment, empathy, design, interpretation, and understanding how technology operates.
Tools handle repetitive tasks, while people focus on intent.
