RLUSD moving across chains without wrapped tokens.
On June 5, Ripple's dollar stablecoin RLUSD went live across more than 40 blockchains through Wormhole's Native Token Transfers, including the new XRPL EVM Sidechain. What matters is how the token moves between them.
The usual way to send a token to another chain is to lock the real one in a contract and issue a stand-in on the other side. That locked store becomes a single pot of funds, which is what bridge attackers keep draining. Native Token Transfers skip it. The token is burned on the chain it leaves and minted on the one it arrives, so no reserve sits waiting to be taken.
Fewer wrapped copies and no locked pot means one less honeypot between chains.
