Fed Cuts Rates 0.25% to 4.00-4.25%, First Since December
The Fed lowered rates by 0.25% to 4.00–4.25%, its first cut since December.
Powell said there wasn't broad support for a larger move. The projections show two more quarter-point cuts are likely to close out 2025. Our read: Easing because the job market is cooling, and they'll go meeting by meeting.
This means, in plain English, that lines of credit and other variable-rate loans get cheaper. There's more willingness to buy, crypto included, but this isn't a green light or a "pivot."
Expect a slower, stair-step path rather than a surge.
