Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ 2
Reports suggest Nvidia is pulling back on certain consumer GPUs, including the RTX 5070 Ti, as supply is redirected toward AI and datacenter demand. That trend has been building for a while and reflects Nvidia's current priorities.
At the same time, the newly announced Raspberry Pi AI HAT+ 2 adds a dedicated AI accelerator to an existing Pi 5, making local inference feasible without a GPU. It's not powerful, but it's sufficient for small models, vision, and experimentation.
With high-end GPUs becoming scarcer and more expensive, low-cost compute is making local AI testing more accessible. The gap between "AI lab" and "AI tinkering" is widening, and devices like the Pi are helping fill it.
